Boys....need i say more?

Why cant they just act mature? Why is it so cool to make fun of girls and put them down? Why do they think that they are so smooth when all they can ever say to a girl is "...so what's up?" Why is it cool to joke about getting trashed after we have just had a very serious assembly where college aged guys talked about their best friends who were killed from drinking accidents right before graduation? Why is it so funny to put down immigrants in our school, or people from different ethnic backrounds? Today, these things just made me so angry i could have cried (or punched the guys saying this stuff). Can someone explain to me why some guys are so stupid?

all VERY good questions...

i don't have any simple answers ~ probably because there aren't any, though i agree with chloe that immaturity is certainly a very big factor...

perhaps some guy will help us out here?

oh, and about the exchange students: unfortunately we superior and arrogant americans think everyone needs to be just like us, and pride keeps us from exploring friendships with people who are different in any way. i know that's a generalization, but it is way too prevalent in our culture and it makes me sick.

All guys are born with inferiority complexes. They put on a song-and-dance act to please those around them (mostly guys who are doing precisely the same thing) and hide their feelings, because that's the socially acceptable way that a man should act. This information men receive from their fathers, who in turn received it from their fathers, who were most likely Army men and/or industrial workers - generally, they were in environments where those who exhibited emotions were considered weak. In brief, guys typically don't say what we truly think. It's all a façade.
